First Story alumna featured in Rathbones Review

21 January 2020 //  by First Story

Henna Ravjibhai took part in the Rathbones Folio Prize Mentorships scheme in 2019. She has recently been featured in the Rathbones review to talk First Story, working with Joe Dunthorne, and writing on the bus to college.

We’re incredibly proud of our partnership with Rathbones Folio Prize Mentorships. As the article below points out: ‘no other mentorship scheme in the UK offers young writers such sustained one-to-one attention.’ It’s just one of the ways we continue the work we start with our young writers.

We’re also incredibly proud of Henna. She is an absoultely brilliant writer and it comes as no surprise to us that she’s been fetaured in the Rathbones Review.

My parents and my sister came along to hear me reading my work [at the First Story anthology launch], and I could tell they were really proud. That’s when the whole thing clicked and I thought: ‘Yes, this is for me!’
