Become a Cheltenham Festivals Writer-in-Residence

14 July 2016 //  by First Story

Cheltenham Festivals is a charitable organisation that champions up-and-coming talent, celebrates established artists and commissions unique performances. As a part of their inspirational educational programme, Cheltenham Festivals has partnered with First Story. Together, we are running writing residencies in local Gloucestershire secondary schools serving low-income communities, helping students in the area experience the pleasure and power of creative writing.

Cheltenham Festivals is looking for two acclaimed writers with teaching experience to become writers-in-residence to nurture the confidence and creativity of young writers in schools. As a writer-in-residence, you will plan and deliver writing workshops, edit students’ writing for publication in an anthology, and deliver training sessions for teachers that help them develop creative teaching practices. Above all, Cheltenham Festivals are looking for writers who can inspire students to discover the power of their own voice!

Get in touch with us if this sounds like you.
