Support your schools to provide an enriching, confidence-raising creative writing programme, embedding a culture of creativity and sense of belonging across your Trust.

The Young Writers Programme builds writing and oracy skills in students aged 11-18. It’s proven to improve confidence, develop the skills young people need to thrive and provides enriching creative experiences.
We can work with your Multi-Academy Trust to support the specific needs of your students in alignment with your strategic priorities. Our programmes help foster enjoyment of writing as well as supporting engagement and self-belief for students who need it most.
What we offer Multi-Academy Trusts

First Story supports Multi-Academy Trusts with bespoke provision based on your specific students and school contexts. Along with the Young Writers Programme offer in each participating school, Trust partners benefit from a range of additional resources including:
- Trust-level impact reports
- Opportunities to celebrate the achievements of your students through celebratory anthology launches and good news stories to share with your communities
- A professionally published anthology of students’ work, with copies for each participating student and school
- A trust wide CPD session on teaching writing
- Showcase opportunities for students to develop oracy skills
Working with First Story has had a profound impact on our school and community. Whilst the programme itself creates an exceptional and hugely formative experience for those directly involved, the wider impact on the culture of reading and writing across the organisation has been truly phenomenal. I cannot recommend this opportunity highly enough to other schools and settings that are considering involvement.
