Shagufta K Iqbal

Shagufta K Iqbal is an award-winning poet, her debut poetry collection Jam Is For Girls, Girls Get Jam is described by gal-dem as “heart-wrenching and relatable.” 

Shagufta’s writing has been featured in a wide range of anthologies, including Slam: You’re Gonna Wanna Hear This, Spin! The Book of Bristol, and The Best Poetry Book in the World. She is the author of The Adventures of Bibi and Rumi, and The Spelling Bee. 

She is currently working on her second poetry collection, and a children’s poetry collection Everything In-Between with Troika Books.

She has worked with The V&A, The Tate, The South Bank Centre, The National Poetry Library, and The Poetry Society.  She has performed at Shambala Festival, WOMAD Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Karachi Literature Festival, Lagos International Poetry Festival and Hyderabad Literature Festival.
