Laila Sumpton
Laila Sumpton is a poet, editor, performer and educator who works with schools, hospitals, museums and charities on a wide variety of poetry projects.
She co-founded the reparative education organisation Poetry VS Colonialism and has overseen colonial history poetry workshops with over 22 schools. She loves helping students investigate identity, human rights, history and the environment through poetry, and has edited numerous student poetry collections with Spread the Word and Ministry of Stories.
She is an associate artist at intergenerational arts charity Magic Me and has been commissioned by the Tate Modern, Poet in the City, the Tower of London and the Royal Free Hospital amongst others.
