L.M. Nathan
L.M. Nathan grew up in a mining village in the East Midlands, not far from the mysticism of Sherwood Forest. She studied English and Drama at UWE Bristol (University of the West of England), and has an MA in English which she studied for in Malta, a country that means a lot to her family. She has an MA in Multimedia Journalism from Manchester Metropolitan.
A qualified teacher, she taught English from Key Stage 3 to A Level across secondary schools in the North West for many years, but is now focused on writing from her home in rural Lancashire. Her first novel, The Virtue Season, is a young adult dystopia full of romance, and was published by Scholastic in 2024. It was recently nominated for the Carnegie Medal 2025 and was chosen as one of the best new teen reads by The Guardian in July 2024, who said the book was ‘intensely readable with undertones of Atwood and a vivid, immersive setting.’
