David Scott
David Scott is a writer, poet, BBC presenter, podcaster, and YouTuber.
David has led numerous writing projects with young people, from engaging reluctant writers to creating verses that decorate local areas. His ambition to nurture talent and make poetry accessible to the masses was celebrated by ITV News.
For the past five years, David has presented Upload for BBC Radio across the North West. The show’s aim is to support and showcase emerging artists in any medium, aligning with David’s ethos of developing grassroots talent.
In 2023, he released his debut book, Mancunians: Where Do We Start, Where Do I Begin? Part memoir, part social commentary, the book was well-received and nominated for The People’s Book Prize.
In 2024, he received an Arts Council award to work within the prison system, facilitating creative writing workshops and producing a published anthology of the learners’ work.
With his unique ability to combine sport with the arts, he has been commissioned by the Lionesses, Manchester United, UEFA, BT Sport, and well-recognised organisations such as the NSPCC and Co-op Live.
