Amanda Whittington

Amanda Whittington is a Nottingham-based playwright. Her recent productions include Bollywood Jane (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Be My Baby (New Vic Theatre, Stoke), Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (Harrogate Theatre/Oldham Coliseum), Ladies Day and the sequel, Ladies Down Under (Hull Truck Theatre/national tours). She has four published plays and Be My Baby is a GCSE and A-level recommended text. Amanda writes regularly for BBC Radio Four, contributing to the Woman’s Hour serial and Afternoon Play slots. She began her writing career as a journalist for publications including the Guardian, New Statesman and Society, The Face and the Nottingham Evening Post.
