Imaru Lewis at YWF18

4 November 2018 //  by First Story

Imaru Lewis is a graduate of our intensive Writer-in-Residence programme from Highgate Wood school in London. We invited him back in 2018 to speak at First Story’s Young Writers’ Festival.

His continuing passion for writing makes Imaru a great ambassador for our programme. He warmly welcomed a new cohort of First Story students, gathered at Cambridge University for the festival’s opening plenary. Imaru also read his own work to the audience of 330 students and acclaimed writers, including Kei Miller, Shivanee Ramlochan and Stephen Kelman.

Read Imaru’s story here and an extract from his writing here.

Listen to his YWF speech and reading below.
