What’s involved?
The First Story Yorkshire Connect event will take place on Tuesday 4th July 2023 at the University of Huddersfield from 9.45am – 3.30pm. Open to First Story partner schools in Yorkshire, the event will encourage participants to connect with each other as a community of young writers, as well as strengthen knowledge of creative careers and pathways.
During the day guest authors will facilitate on site writing workshops, enabling participants to meet and work with a diverse range of writing professionals. University of Huddersfield Student Ambassadors will host a question and answer session about university experience and offer a tour of the university. At the end of the day, a showcase session will build students’ confidence in public speaking and performance.
The event is free to attend for First Story partner schools although schools will need to cover transport costs.
